O3 Productions signs deal with twofour54
Recently, twofour54 signed a three-year deal with O3 Productions, an MBC group company and one of the region’s leading producers of quality Arabic drama series. The deal will secure an additional 300 production days a year to Abu Dhabi and see more Arabic TV dramas produced in the Capital destined to broadcast on MBC channels across the region.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Takes the World by Storm
In a further sign of the significant role Abu Dhabi has played in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, twofour54 played host to the Middle East premiere of the film in December 2015 at Emirates Palace.

Following the premiere, the film has smashed box office records to become the third highest grossing movie of all time. It is the fastest film to reach the $1 billion mark at the global box office, doing so in just 12 days, and has set all-time opening weekend records in multiple territories.

Giant Star Wars Starkiller Base unveiled in Abu Dhabi
To celebrate the success of the film, twofour54 and Aldar Properties PJSC worked with the Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm to turn the iconic, coin-shaped Aldar HQ building in Abu Dhabi into the new “Starkiller Base” that features in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The 100m tall epic Starkiller base installation is among the biggest in the world. In the film, Abu Dhabi plays Jakku, a frontier desert planet in a remote section of the Outer Rim Territories.

#United4UAE: National Day initiative
During the UAE’s 44th National Day, twofour54 launched an initiative to give back to the local community and to celebrate our nation’s unity in purpose, values, and ambition. The initiative, titled “United4UAE” allows twofour54 staff, campus partners, freelancers and creative lab community members to commit some of their work time to community organisations and charities including “Emirates Red Crescent”, “Wanna Read”, and the “Special Care Centre”. Participants can log their volunteer hours and share stories, images and videos of their experience on a dedicated website.

In support of Her Highness Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan’s initiative, “Wanna Read?” and twofour54’s “United4UAE” initiative, twofour54 CEO visited the children at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City where she joined the kids on a story-reading session.
Brad Pitt’s “War Machine”; another major production to have filmed in Abu Dhabi
Brad Pitt’s latest production War Machine wrapped filming in late 2015 facilitated by twofour54 and the Abu Dhabi Film Commission.

Produced by the world’s leading internet television, Netflix, and Pitt’s production company, Plan B Entertainment, War Machine was filmed across 20 different locations with approximately 500 extras. In partnership with twofour54 and the Abu Dhabi Film Commission, the production provided the opportunity for seven young Emirati interns to work on set, the largest number of interns to date to have worked on a feature film in the Emirate.
